Mental Emails.com

We signed up with Mental Emails.com after seeing a few forums where people were happy with the service and recommending it to others without using their referral link. The sign up process did involve an identical script to Click For Cense that meant we had to do lots of back and forth between the site and our inbox to get us registered. Before we actually signed up we had closer look at the site by going to their terms page to spot any peculiars but thankfully it turned out to be fairly standard for this type of service. Their website introduction stated that they can offer you paid to read emails with a minimum payout of $4.00 and a 25% commission for 1 referral. For advertisers they claim their prices are insanely low with super high click rates. When we checked what the ad figures were we saw that the prices were indeed low considering they are selling 500 ads for $2.00.

Design & Performance

We found the design of the site to be a little strange of course given their unusual theme but the layout however was pretty well thought out. The earnings area was display in a large central box with many other options such as referral links, Contests and stats. Because this site is about paid to read emails we couldn’t really test the performance on the day of sign up so instead we compared their prices and features to similar sites. When you look around at their competition in the paid to read email business, you can see how dated TIB is becoming with their high payouts and lack of new features.

These folks have come in at a stage where they can take the best of the sites that have been published since TIB and combine it into their site. Their features heavily evolve around advertising and helping web sites promote as well as their email service. Ad exchange seemed to be a new one to us where you can add your sites URL into an auto/manual surf exchange. This means the advertiser can earn $0.0002 every time their site is viewed after paying $0.0003 to place your add.

One feature we found to be a bit odd was the Marvin’s plays room page which had a selection of cartoons of Marvin which you have to click on to receive special upgrades to your account. We could see that you can gain from this area but felt it was a bit patchy on the details of what these upgrades would be and the design of this game if you will. We find this area to be a little bit too distracting when all you want to do is earn money and improve your account without having to guess what’s next. After all the introduction page promised us there would be no gimmicks which makes us refer to our banner slogan “show me the money”.

We found that after 4 days of testing their paid to read emails we had managed to gain around 100 points but this only gave us the amount of cash below

cash: 0.0241    points: 100

This was of course a disappointment when you consider that its 1 point per email so we had to spend a lot of time viewing 100 emails. The result from those 100 is extremely unrewarding and lousy in terms of pay.

Evaluation

We like the amount of benefits that feature with this site but still feel it needs more of a professional design with some upfront stats about not only your own account but the site stats too. This would help advertisers make a better decision when it comes to using the service. The emails did not arrive on the day of sign up which leaves the gate open on this review for further testing. We are eager to see if we will be as satisfied as those who were on the forums about it.

This web site has got potential and looks promising considering the features they have over the common PTR sites. The low minimum payout of $4.00 is great start since the payouts on TIB are $20. However after 4 days of testing it seemed to be fairly pointless considering how much cash they give you for points. In the PTR area they are just not performing and need to increase the pay to $0.01 per email. Until they improve this they slip down from +4 to 0
