E-marketing Questions Corner

In this section I will try and respond to some of the question I get about e-marketing . If you are new to internet marketing and have questions you can send me an email and I will try and answer asap. There is not enough space or time to write a whole report to answer a question so I try and give short answers that is down to the point.

 I answer questions about e-marketing.This is not a personal coach service and I don't have time to review your website. For peronal coaching you have to apply for a spot in November since all the spots are taken right now. Sorry!

General e-marketing questions:

Q: It seems to be hard to make any money online. How long before I start earning money?
A: It is very individual. Some start earning money right away and some need weeks or months before they get an income. To earn en income you can live on you probably have to work full time with e-marketing and promoting. Your incomes will reflect on how much work and effort you put in, how much you learn and how much you know about e-marketing. So for a newbie it is always slow in the beginning. The trick is not to giveup after 2 months,thinking that is doesn'twork. It does work,you have to hang in there, learn more, try different tactics. There is not one magic trick to make money online, the formula is a combination of marketing strategies in combination. What works best for your business only you can figure out. Of course if you can get an experienced marketing coach to help you out in the beginning you will earn money faster.

Q: How big must my contact list be before I can make enough money to live on?
A:There is not an easy answer to that. Some e-marketing experts has small contact lists with 500-1000 subscribers and they make millions each year. Why? For several reasons: People trust them, people understand them and the e-marketer know how to sell. Of course you must promote quality products and not junk.
For a person who is not a well known in his niche and perhaps new to selling to a contact list it requires a larger list to sell the same number of items that (for example) Alex Mandossian sell to his list.
I guess a newbie could make good money with a contactlist of 10,000 subscribers.

Q: What is a good conversion rate?
A: 1-2% is normal.This means 1-2 people out of 100 will buy your product when you send them a sales letter.  A 3-4% conversion rate is considered very good. This also explains why e-marketers promoting low price products need a big contact list to make money.

Q: How often should I send email promos to my list?
A: You will loose business if you start spamming like crazy and no one wants to buy from a person who seem desperate to sell. I send a email promo once per week to my subscriber for most of my websites and that seem to be a good balance for my businesses. Remember that not all sales happens at once. People might not read your email immediately,it can take several days beforethey read it and there for one sales letter can generate sales for several weeks.

Advertising

Q: How much do I have to spending advertising?
A: That depends on your line of business. If you have a lot of competition you will have to spend more to get the traffic. Search engine optimization is the best way to get free traffic. If you get a high position in search results you basically don't have to spend anything on advertsing. Nancy Andrews is a living example of SEO success. She get around 200.000 visitors per month for ONE of her websites and only through search engine results. Imagine that. Last thing I heard was that she made US$240.000 off just her golf-site in one year. And she has more than just one website ;-)

Q: Where can I get free advertising for my website?
A: Forums and communities are often free to sign up too and some of them allow you to advertise your own website on on you profile page.

Some good communities: MySpace, MyLot, PerfSpot, FaceBook, Yuwie

Forums: all the forum listed on this page and of course interest groups and Google forums.

Another place that is great for free advertising and highly effective is of course YouTube. You reach out to a lot of people and when using keywords you can targeted traffic to your website.

Search Engine Optimization

Q: What is the best SEO tool?
A: All the experts I talked to say SEO Elite is the best SEO product out there and it has just been updated so I say it is well worth your money. With it you can Ethically spy on outranking competitors that are stealing your best prospects and then follow an exact blueprint to copy exactly what they're doing to move past them in the search engines.

Q: What is the best way to submitting my website to all the major search engines?
A: The fastest way to get the search engines to index you site is to submit the URL to a high ranked forum or community. Then the search engines will find your site automatically within a few days. Submitting manually often takes weeks before the search engines index.

Q: How long have you worked with e-marketing?
A: Since 1999 when I got a job with Quill.com (sells office supplies). Of course that was a million dollar industry and that is way different from what I work with today. But I learned a lot.

Q: Are you an e-marketing expert?
A: No I am not. I am an average e-marketer and I do not make millions, however I make a little more than enough to live on.

Q: How much do you make per month in dollars?
A: Some months are very good and some months can be very slow, specially over the summer when people are away on holiday and don't read e-mail. Average monthly income in 2006 was $7.500 after expenses and taxes.
The incomes has increased in 2007 though.
 December is always a bad month for me. People spend their money on christmas presents I guess.  That is why I always save up so I don't depend on the December income.

 

 

Coaching

Q: Do you do coaching?
A: Yes I do, but sadly I don't have much time for new clients anymore and the ones I am already coaching have paid for up to 3 months of coaching. I will have one spot open at the end of October 2007 though, but I expect it to be taken as soon as I advertise it.

Q: How much does coaching cost?
A: Average to expert coaches charge around US$300/hour. I have a price of $200/2 hours but I can only provide 2 hours/week for my clients.

Q: What does the coach do?
A: Well that depends on the coach. I myself look at the clients website and layout and suggest necessary changes. I also read through the copy and suggest changes. We (me and the client) draw a marketing plan and build a strategy for their business. What the plan is depends on the client's line of business and howmuch he/she is willing to spend on advertising and services. We also create the salesletters for the autoresponder and do SEO together to get the traffic.

Q: Do I have to become VIP in order to make money with this product?
